Odun Orimolade: "Eniyan Laso Mi (People Are My Clothing)", Performance, Goethe Institute, December 1

Acclaimed artist Odun Orimolade will unveil her newest performance, entitled Eniyan Laso Mi (People Are My Clothing), at the rooftop of City Hall on December 12, 4 PM, in partnership with Goethe Institute Nigeria.

Orimolade's perfemance focuses on the interwoven phenomena of the social uniform and social performance of the Aso Ebi and Owanbe within Yuroba causcuses. It critiques the underlying factors that perpetuate the visual presentation of these phenomena and examines how the Owambe and Aso Ebi affects and influences individuals in various ramifications through coorperative behavior, such as conformity, altruism, obsession, ritual, and otherness.

The artist is calling for participants to engage with the performance. In order to participate, individuals must wear traditional attire in white or cream with caps/head gear in blue.

The performance will start promptly at 5 PM.
